Called Mississippi by the Natives Americans, Le Fleuve Saint Louis by the French, regardless of its name the Big Muddy River has been flowing subconsciously in the mind of New Orleanians for centuries. Out of sight out of mind, hiding and barely contain by the levees, but for how long?
I wanted the photographs to capture just the fast moving water of the river, forget the cargo boats, barges, tug boats and the steamboats. Just water flowing. not so focused, not fully aware, little information. I wanted the viewers to bring their own perception,
